Before joining F&S in 2013 as one of partners, Ms. Zou practiced IP law as an in-house counsel in a world leading Japanese company for ten years. She has rich experience in patent mining, drafting, prosecution, invalidation and IP management. From 2009 to 2012, as the IP representative of the said Japanese company, Ms. Zou perfected and promoted the company’s patent strategy in China. She has been representing international clients on patent prosecution and invalidation in a variety of technical fields, including mechanics and electronics, having a deep understanding of Chinese and Japanese intellectual property laws and gathering plenty of experiences related to patent matters through a great many practical works, especially composing a large number of patent applications in Chinese and Japanese. Apart from Chinese patent applications, Ms. Zou has also dealt with foreign patent applications for Chinese applicants from mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, responding to hundreds of office actions of patent applications from US, Japan and European countries, which show her well-knit and extensive professional knowledge as well as the abilities to analyze and solve problems comprehensively.
